Normal people don't give a shit about Chris or even know who he is. The whole raping his mom thing did make him known to a wider audience, but even then it was still an internet only thing that you had to actively be following. Now, absolutely no one wants anything to do with him and it seems like he's finally woken up and realized that his life fucked beyond belief. People have tried to film him and interview him in public after he was released, and before he ate up the attention and would happily go along with it. But now when people approach him or he realizes he's being filmed he's pretty quick to leave the area or shut them down if they try to talk to him.

That documentation is what makes the difference between a vague story of bad upbringing with autism and....that entire thing. You know the term "Greek Tragedy"? This is one of many sure-to-be-compiled examples of what will be known as "An American tragedy." A example forever etched in our bones and culture about what happens when bad parenting and apathetic reliance on screens to raise your kids can come together into something that is entirely >worse< than the sum of it's parts.

If you know his story, you know he started our almost exactly the same as any 80s/early 90s kid. When he was sporting off about sonic at that contest he could have been any one of us. Remember that Chris dropped it several times for years at a time or there would be huge gaps between updates because he was lazy and would only start drawing it again when people were literally paying him to. But then he was always being influenced by the trolls and people would pay him to put stupid shit into the comics, so it unironically lost a lot of its soul the longer it went on and we stopped getting stuff like which was his pure, unfiltered autism.
