The backrooms are ruined tbh

the addition of monstors and entities just turned the whole thing into "oh no, dumb scary moster wants to kill me", cant they just focus on liminality?, now the backrooms are way less fascinating, just because they decided to add some dumb banal shit to the lore

empty infinite spaces are scary on their own, but adding entities to the backrooms just makes no sense, most of the time, like why would there be monsters? its now just like a typical dumb horror movie with a concept that have been milked 103030 times

can we talk about that?

Agreed. Much scarier when nothing's there. Adds the sense of loneliness, too.
Leave it to gen z to ruin a cool concept with all their kewl quirky ideas. Every faggot and his dog feel the need to have his shitty input heard nowadays.

Wasn't this found be an old furniture store or something? Now furniture is the real scary stuff amirite guise

Monsters in the Backrooms is fine, and fuckin' cool, but they need to be extremely rare. Having one around every corner defeats the purpose, but the liminality is supposed to give you a false sense of security. Otherwise, the only danger in the Backrooms would be starvation, and we don't need another Africa simulator.

Nah don't worry, you'll die of thirst long before you die of starvation. I mean, unless you sprinkle in some water fountains I guess.

i wonder if we can make a new lore without all the stupid moster things, they turned the whole thing into some cheap banal horror story based around retarded cringe monsters

i just loved the liminality and the loniless of the backroom
here r things i hate about it
the entities, they make no sense, why would they even exist? it makes the backrooms look sentient, or smth controls it, which ruins the isolation thing

and also the retarded factions, so disgusting and nothing sticks together
they decided to make a faction, of humans who are called "party poopers" and they wear stupid blue masks with a frown on their face, its so cringe and dumb

the faction idea was horrible
and their names are so retarded

the lost, the doomed, the republic, MEG, or smth as dumb as the gaurds of life

who writes these? really this is retarded and cheap work

I like both ideas.

empty infinite spaces are scary on their own

agree

can we talk about that?

yes
I think it's an rc hobby store now.

cant they just focus on liminality?

mundanes can't perceive liminality

empty spaces are scary

No, they arent.

This thread is the first time I've heard of this (yeah, I live under a rock, w/e). I agree that once you start piling on standard horror tropes the whole idea breaks down. I think that if you want to add to it, there should be "breaks" where the space suddenly gives way to something that looks almost normal, natural, lived-in -- but on closer inspection it never actually is. It should give you glimpses of life, company, a way out -- but it always remains just out of reach. And not because some big bad is controlling it or anything, just as the nature of the thing.
