Why did the music industry go to shit?

Why did the music industry go to shit?

Because you listen to shit music. Any time an idiot like yourself says things were better in the past should just stay there and shut the fuck up about it. You choose what to listen to. If you find yourself listening to shit music, remember, you purposely picked it.

Because it's driven by teenagers and their tastes and you're old

Can't you hear it?

2000 to "now"(2010)

why did the music industry go to shit?

This same thing was said with cherry picked images back in 2010. Every few years some cuck faggot kid bitches that they turned 16 and the music their mom was fucking strangers to years ago was "better"

Zoomers ruined everything

Only Yachty still is somewhat relevant. Nobody is checking for lil pump or listening to 6ix9ine anymore. So OP isn't remotely current.

its because everything now needs to be a tiktok trend.

Good music used to be common and easily found. For everyone. Not just elitist faggots twirling their dicks on an anime board.

Your ass got the family size jug of haterade. Listen bud. You like a band, you see who opens for them, what producers they work with and other artists who work with said producers. It's not rocket surgery.

Imagine being a stoned teenager opening Dark Side of the Moon and listening to it for the first time in the early 70s? That will never be you. Or anyone else at this rate.

i went kind of bad in the late 00s, but then had a resurgence of goodness around 2012-2013 or so.
then the industry completely shit the bed since and has never recovered.
everyone these days listens to old shit on Spotify, the popular EDM channel on the radio or video game/1h mix shit on Youtube.

Society changed.
It became more commercial and less about depth and art.
Also culture changed. It's not monolithic anymore you can't really "comment" on it anymore through art because everything is so accessible and connected now.
Also ticket companies ruined live shows and the organic growth of new sounds and bands.
It's just different.

I'd rather be the guy smoking a blunt of exotic blasting The Low End Theory on release day in my car while chilling with the crew. You have your good ole days, I have mine.

That, that sounds way more lame.
I'm in your generation and I still didn't understand half of what you said.

That's why you ain't get no pussy.
Ok, maybe first listen of Ride The Lighting?
Nigga, you don't Tribe? lolololol

didn't understand half of what you said

Umm, your Gen-X membership is officially revoked.

I get no pussy because I don't talk like I'm having a stroke?

I'm not that old grandpa.

It's okay.
It's kind of bland but whatever. Like listening to paint dry.

Because posers don't believe in heavy metal and listen to retard beep boop music and whiny candy asses and niggers singing about drugs and money and the other evils of the world.

I envy that dude if he's about to hear low end theory for the first time. Maaaan.

who gives a shit about the music INDUSTRY you fucking queer

There is plenty of new bands but people only want to pay ticket companies $200 to see the same overhyped bands everyone has heard of.

The music industry was always fucked. It's just you needed some talent to even be able to make music.

Now any faggot can autotune and AI melody so the industry doesn't even need to bother with organic shit using any talent at all.

But this isn't new, we always knew that music producers were disgusting fucks even before old ass cunts like Elvis and that ticket sales for live shows were monopolised and fucked decades ago.

Hater, one of the greatest hiphop albums of all time buddy. But whatever. Try this one.

You can't hate on Illmatic.

Because you're paying attention to mainstream goybage instead of listening to chitown legends High Spirits

Exactly which is why it's shit.

Yes. That is an objectively good album.
But I like more than rap.

Right, but it's a symptom of the people not the industry. Anyone can go down and listen to their local bands play any genre they want, shit changed my life but no one wants to take a chance.

Culture has changed. There's no music movements anymore because culture is so post modern.
There will never be another Nirvana for example.

Because the metric for fame has shifted. In previous generations, your fame was largely dependent on your talent. There's a reason why people still love AC/DC and other classic bands. To get noticed, you had to be good. To get really noticed, you had to be really good. Real effort and musical talent had to be employed to make it big. That's no longer the case. You just have to make a small snippet of a song catchy enough to go with a TikTok video, and have world wide coverage. According to Spotify, most users who listen to pop music are really only listening to 15 to 20 seconds of a song. Compound that with the digitalization of music and auto tune, and you produce music that sounds like music, but doesn't feel like music. There is no heart and soul to it. I'm a world where everyone is a rock star, nothing rocks. But, you know, TL;DR I'm retarded.

Lol I actually almost posted that exact picture. I was fortunate enough to meet Lemmy when I was younger. A god amoung men. He lived and literally died for his fans.

I was fortunate enough to meet Lemmy when I was younger.

You lucky mother fucker. Please, share the story. Under what circumstances did you meet him? When did you meet him?
A god amoung men. He lived and literally died for his fans.
Yeah, Lemmy lived and died for his fans. He is a true rock God

When was it ever good? Your answer tells your inherent bias about your understanding of the timescale you are dealing with. Corporate music has always been shit.

Uhh it was also shit in 2010, dillweed.

lil peep

now

Murikah

The music industry has always been shit. The good stuff is still made by random people who just love music and not money.
