The mother of my daughter wouldn’t let me see her for 12 years. Then she surrendered her to child safety services because she could no longer look after her apparently.

Now my daughter is owned by the government and they’re making it extremely hard for me to see my kid. They will not let her have a phone or any contact with any of her family. They don’t let her speak to any of us and don’t tell me anything that’s going on. Even when they physically restrain my child they don’t update me. They’ve diagnosed her with autism and all of these conditions and are studying her like a lab rat and not telling me anything.

I’m trying very hard not to be angry about the situation but the lack of empathy and professionalism from all sides is making me internally seethe and I’m worried I may lash out in some form over it unless I’m allowed to see my child.
What should I do?

I did call the police and enquire about pursuing charges eventually but they told me without “direct evidence” it would be difficult. When MySpace shut down I lost a lot of the old messages between the mother and I.
The only proof now is that she is indeed so far away. That and a lot of witnesses who saw the whole thing and how it unfolded.
But then it’s a matter of whether they would testify. It gets complicated.
