I have a different opinion and perhaps I'm wrong but I'll explain why I take issue. Basically, inflation, and I'm sure there's a bunch of compelling, well thought-out arguments for why it's necesarry but my postion..

If the labour I perform today is worth a loaf of bread, and I'm given a token that can be exchanged for a loaf of bread, and I save that token for a period of time, regardless of how long, why should it ever be worth less than a loaf of bread when it represents the labour I performed that WAS worth a loaf of bread?

If the idea is that, over time, the value of a loaf of bread is inherently more, that it's necessary that a loaf of bread should be valued higher now than it was 10 years ago, then why? Why should it? That's a glaring flaw in the system. If I earned a loaf of bread that token I recieved, as a means to exchange for what I earned, should always retain it's value, as the work was already performed and cannot be somehow worth less when the value of it was already achieved and agreed upon at the time.

It's a scam. The point is two-fold. 1:to encourage that we spend NOW lest our recompence become worthless with time and 2: to ensure, should anyone chose to no consoom, spend, and fritter their tokens away, that it should become worthless with time.

I, like that other anon, hate it. Hate money, hate the system, hate the way we have this middleman token system that devalues previous efforts beneath what they were worth at the time, and ensures, for the vast majority, that we'll participate in the mechanisms of labour in perpetuity.
