Have you experienced male pattern baldness?
Have you experienced male pattern baldness?
Started mid 20's now I'm fucking Picard. Only way to deal is buzz it down #1 and never wear hats like a pussy.
No, 33 and my hair is still going very strong. Hairline stronger than ever
I said that once
17 years of drinking four to five cups of coffee a day has given me diffuse thinning. Tannins cause an iron deficiency which affects hair growth. If I'd known this I would have avoided coffee.
How old are you now?
And not that hard, just take iron vitamins or eat iron rich food to avoid that. The biggest reason of dudes going bald in the USA these days earlier and earlier is due to shit diet, not sleeping enough, not drinking water and never getting anywhere near the amount of vitamins you need. I’m 33 and people always mistaken me for 26-27
I'm on iron and Vitamin D3 supplements right now. Apparently scalp massages work for mpb/aga but not so much with diffuse thinning.
23
Bro I’m 10 years older than you and my hair is still going strong, you must’ve lived like absolute shit in your teens to be bald at 23. Guessing you ate like shit and stayed up late constantly and never had good sleep. Wouldn’t even be surprised if you have a hard time getting an erection at 23. When I was 23 my dick was hard more often than not
Neat, how's your low testosterone levels treating you?
Fat balding obsessor unable to get an erection and shoots loads that are pure water? I know it’s you
I would have avoided coffee.
What is this heresy?
If you avoid coffee, how will you balance the excess of blood in your caffeine system?
Hair loss is connected to high testosterone levels anon, so yeah I'm not ashamed to admit that I'm bald. Also on erections, I often have to fap to get rid of unwanted erections while I am trying to fall asleep, because my dick refuses to go soft on its own.
lol ok, fuckin lol. Ok fag, high testosterone causes hair loss. lol you’re fuckin retarded beyond reason
And you have no refuting argument.
Curious that.
Testosterone is the male hormone, what causes aging and deteriorating body conditions is your testosterone levels going down as time goes on. Ya dummy fuckrot
MPB
is this just teh political correct way of saying balding?
Good question. I've just had a cup of coffee right now because I love the taste. But I'm limiting myself to one cup. Now I drink lemon and ginger tea.
Yeah sure, but male pattern baldness is still connected to testosterone or more specifically what testosterone turns into when it encounters an enzyme called 5α-reductase, which turns it into dihydrotestosterone, which some men are genetically sensitive to, causing the balding.
So mean who bald earlier, do so because they have high levels of testosterone that then turn into dihydrotestosterone and kill their hair follicles.
So yeah, fuck off with your emasculating assumptions anon, you've likely got lower levels of testosterone than I do.
Now I drink lemon and ginger tea.
With actual tea in it or just an infusion of ginger and lemon?
Actual tea contains tannins too.
So mean who bald earlier
So men who go bald earlier*
I was too hasty writing that.
I was starting to get thinning hair and so I started finasteride which has slowed it. 36 and my hair is ok as long as you don't look at the tip top lol
Well, the packaging says it has actual lemon and ginger in it so it's fine with me. Yes, tea does have tannins, but that's black/green tea. I wanted to get rooibos, but that has tannins in it.
I drink like a litre of black tea a day. I wonder how bad that is. Probably not as bad as coffee but still.
Well, the packaging says it has actual lemon and ginger in it so it's fine with me.
Does it mention any tea though?
If not it is a good substitute if you want to avoid tannins.
Yes. It's fucked.
If you catch it early, you can stop it with rogaine, but people don't usually catch it that early, becasue their friends notice and don't say anything.
t. my experience.
At that point your only option is Bosley.
Do you have any signs of hairloss. I started drinking coffee at 21 and began losing hair at 23 (I'm 39). It's been a very slow process and I'm not fully bald yet.
Yes it does. But it also has apple in it. If it does have tannins, then I'll stop.
Depending on strong you brew it, I can be less tannins than coffee, the same amount or more.
Coffee and tea aren't super different in the amount of consumption that would be considered unhealthy.
Both contain caffeine, tannins and other compounds that can be unhealthy in excess.
I've committed to the fact that if I go past norwood 3 then I'm buzzing and owning being bald. Imo owning your genes is better than clinging onto what little is left of your hair.
Yeah, started fin way too late when I was already fully with a bald spot and widows peak because I’m retarded
Is what it is. I can accept being ugly and move on with my life, only thing more pathetic than being ugly and bald s letting it ruin your life
I used to have hair so thick that it killed heavy duty hair trimmers, they'd literally burn out and get stuck to my head so we had to clip them off with scissors.
Now I have norwood 3 or 4 and I just keep myself bald by using the same machine I shave my face with.
I never quite got why guys would panic so much about balding, I had a mane a lion could envy for 30 years before it got so thin that I chopped it off and now I am rocking the Kojak probably for the next 30 years.
Depending on how much hair I have to work with at the age of 60, I'll try an entirely other style of hair.
Why are guys so obsessed about this stuff though?
DHT is a product of testosterone what makes men lose hair, libido, some evidence suggests it also encourages 'masculine behaviors' alongside test. Testosterone is what is responsible for general sense of wellbeing, muscles, etc. The thing is, some people just have hair follicles that are extremely sensitive to DHT, so even if they had low test levels well below average, they'd still be losing hair, likewise some very hairy men have extremely high test but low follicle sensitivity. The connection between test and hair loss is more of a casual relationship than direct cause. The direct cause is DHT and hair follicle sensitivity.
You are not a scientist.
I think if you break it down to its core, it's pretty normal for there to be some worry. It's the easiest way for potential mates to see you as older and out of the dating pool. The thing is, insecurity is the killer of attraction. While not every woman likes a bald man, they'd certainly prefer one over a guy who tries to pull off a combover and doesn't want to own who they are. It's a confidence thing for sure, being comfortable in your own skin is attractive to women, especially those that struggle with self-esteem issues which in my experience, are many women.
Well yeah, which also refutes this anon Who was acting all holy for eating broccoli as a teen and keeping his bedtime or something.
It's the easiest way for potential mates to see you as older and out of the dating pool.
Men get more valuable to the dating pool as they age though, they need to exceed 60 or something to turn into vinegar after having been fine wine for a couple of decades.
Absolutely, but once again, insecurity is the killer of attraction. Value doesn't mean anything if all it's good for is on paper. You need to believe in your own value and own it.
I don't think I'm the one in need of bucking up in this thread anon, although I appreciate the sentiment.
I've got outfits that I'll wear for a night on the town that look utterly ridiculous, that make people laugh with me because they get the joke of me wearing them and owning the look, that would be seppuku levels of shame on someone who couldn't own wearing them.
I've also experienced getting dragged along to a venue where everyone was "of age" to drink and hook up, where the confidence that came from me deciding that I wasn't going to lay a finger on anyone in there, attracted all of the little chicks like a magnet.
Sometimes I lament being unable to act like an asshole.
I was just speaking in general terms not about you specifically. Glad to hear you're comfortable in your own skin though.
I didn't use to, but I'm good now.
I still obviously have the tism though, because I perceived you as trying to boost my spirits instead of speaking in general.

Men with hair and boners
Signs of aging (balding being one of the most typical with men) usually comes with the stigma of loss of attractiveness and the signaling of youth gone by. This brings about death anxiety, as a result.
That's what I generally glean.
Hey Satan, check em
Oh shit yeah, fear of death makes a lot of sense.
Now I get why balding doesn't bother me, I've had other brushes with mortality and I had them while I was young, so aging wasn't what finally made me aware of my mortality.
I'm a man without hair and boners anon. Being bald does not make me less of a man and you having hair doesn't make you more of one.
You are in fact quite bitchy in spite of you having hair.
(Sorry for the bad haircut)
41yo and so far - no.
Yeah, I was the same at your age. Don't get too confident, I had more hair per square inch than a chinchilla but it's noticeably thinner on my crown now. From the front you can't tell because the hairline is still strong. It's just lame that I'm probably going to end up with a fucking sunroof on the middle of my head
How old are you now?
