im not joking, they should just give them a home for free. even a small home.

when they have a home, they can get a job, they can get a bank account. they cant get any of this without one. this is exactly what finland did. and homelessness is almost 0%

I have an homeless guy in my area who is really nice, he says hi to me asks me how my day was and just loves to talk. Never begged me for money but i still give him money or food everytime and hes really grateful. I always make sure the other homeless people don't see because they are retarded assholes lol

make it legal to involuntarily commit someone who is a drug addict and/or mentally ill and living on the streets, then wean them off and stabilize them with drugs, then release them into a group home where theyre kept monitored before finally being allowed to live more independently

this is a mostly tried and true method the only problem is getting funding for beds, drugs, group homes, etc, and since people wont ever want to pay for this stuff were probably gonna have homeless people forever

Homeless people have made themselves expendable. At one time I cared but after working with them for a while I realized they're hopeless. Now I couldn't give a shit less.

I don't interact with them because I don't step foot in cities but I do think mental healthcare should basically be completely government subsidized if you want any real chance of reducing the issue.

I think it's a testament to the idea you become the people you hang out with and also shows the adaptability of a human being. If you think about all those people conglomerated together it's somehow both resourcefulness and crabs in a bucket. Supposedly homeless people have pretty tight nit communities yet they can't assemble their faculties enough to get off the streets by working together.
