you know I'm not sure about "most useless president" bit - I might go further. I think he might just be the most useless national leader, not just on the planet right now, but in world history, certainly in the last hundred years or so.

I'm a historian, admittedly of medieval history, but familiar enough with early modern and modern history.

I honestly cannot think of any world leader, in any nation who displays the same traits of thin-skinned petulant rage at the tiniest insults, while spewing childish name-calling at everyone else. I cant think of a world leader who's so enthusiastically tanked their own economy - even case studies like the Zimbabwean hyperinflation collapse werent as intentional as trump's tarrifs. I can't think of an example of a world leader appointing a more obviously corrupt, self-serving cabinet of incompetents, or of any world leader who was more blatantly corrupt in enriching themselves at the extent of the people - there are many examples of that, but they tend to be a lot more subtle about it.
Trump may just be the worst world leader, not just in America, but on the planet, for his unique distinction of being the worst in every possible metric. Its astounding that people idolise him.

What does the future hold for green energy in the next decades?

This is less a tech/sci question and more of an economics/marketing question, but my impression is:
-Solar panels and windmills feel like they're on the way out. Not because they weren't getting 'better', they were, but because the exotic materials needed to fabricate them never got any cheaper, less invasive, or less foreign. America is also becoming more isolationist; ending the grants and the consumer demand that was carrying some of the industry until it could make them cheaper.
-The EV transfer isn't going to happen (it was never going to happen), but EV's in general have fallen "out of fashion": both because of Elon's abysmal public imagine, but also because Tesla's' never managed to become the affordable consumer appliance they needed to be. To that point - EV sales were apparently most successful in countries with excellent public transportation (people supposedly love them in practice when they use them to "fill the gap", but not as a full-time vehicle. Go figure), so the N. American EV market, land of cars, was a poor match to begin with.
-Nuclear is golden, nuclear is ready and waiting to be embraced and power the future, but remains staggered by countries allergic to public spending. The private sector is never going to introduce nuclear - they're always going to side with fossil fuels.
