I strongly disagree with the might makes right philosophy, and the cops are quite literally a block away from me and extremely bored. My neighbor works the local gas station, and called them once for a basic shoplifter. The response time was almost instant.

I didn't know that until you told me. I don't own a gun, I'm not into the gun collecting community, so I have an extremely limited knowledge on guns. I'm not afraid of guns, and if I didn't struggle with suicidal ideation, and severe self harm issues, I'd likely have one just to take it out on the range or try my hand at hunting.

Here's another AR-15 in a Vietnamese museum. It was captured from US forces in the Vietnam war. Again, do note it has an autosear and is labelled both "AR-15" and "M16" because they are not two different things.

And lastly here's an original Armalite AR-15, it has an autosear and is capable of fully automatic fire, just like each and every single original Armalite AR-15 ever made. 100% of them were fully automatic. Not a single semi-auto only one was made prior to Colt's purchase of the patent.
