there have been plane accidents since 1903. I morbidly keep tabs on them to determine the skills and experience of the pilots that led to the crash. like how do these pilots keep doing this dispite thousands of flying hours? kinda like my own minimal effort NTSB. theres lots of youtube channels doing the same thing but I don't watch them very often unless its of a particular crash. Most of the time its not even the plane its some dumbass jaded pilot

GA accidents are typically around the 500 hour mark where pilots get comfy and start skipping tasks and checklist items, which leads to retarded outcomes like running out of gas, getting lost, or some shit that was easily preventable if procedures were followed. I forget the numbers, but it's usually 80-90% pilot error. The other 10% are from SHTF and stuff breaking.
I myself have had some close calls - one night landing was super fucking terrifying and I gave the plane a bit of a hard landing, a "naval" landing if you would. Runway had no lights, so it just showed up.
