These people genuinely need help. Talking about it is good for them and from them.
Then you have the people who are actually suicidal, they will not talk about it, they will either do it, or will suffer in silence, maybe getting over it or not, you won't know they are suicidal, they will just one day do it or recover.
And then the group you most hear talk about suicide, the ones who are doing it for attention. They will not commit suicide, they are not suicidal, they just say it for attention.
You can only belong to the first group if you actually attempted suicide and have had tangible damage to your body from at least 1 attempt. If not, you are in the 3rd group. The second group just don't talk about it, maybe after they recover they will mention they used to be.
