The best way that has worked for me several times is very simple. Find a new (like new new, few days old at most) game that has multiplayer. Ask in the threads formed about the game if someone wants to play together, odds are high someone will want to, then you just play together and see if you get along. A good amount of times you won't, but sometimes you will and then you just throw them a friend invite and chat and game together some more. Worked for me with perfect world, cube world alpha, destiny 2, xenoverse and some others
