I’m a zoomer with my perception of 9/11 being internet memes so how fucked up was it watching the second plane hit the south tower live on tv?

IMG_2110.gif - 630x483, 579.29K

Thrilling. I got to watch capitalism collapse in real time.

This was the worst attack on US soil since Pearl Harbor. Filthy mudslime rats and their desert god…

be me

9th grade

PA system comes on

"we have reports that an airplane has crashed into the WTC"

start making fun with my friends

"we're gonna take a tour of the WTC and oopsie!"

teacher yells at us and says we shouldn't be laughing

go to next class

see 2nd plane hit

realize its terrorism

oh shit

It was kind of fucked up and no one really had any clue what was going on, even the adults.

not many people watched it on TV because it was a weekday and happened during the day
my mom told a store employee about it a few hours later and he had no idea of it
also every TV channel was just the news feed, channels that never showed the news were just showing it

how fucked up was it watching the second plane hit the south tower live on tv?

Several seconds of pure disbelief before realising there was going to be a decade plus of horrible and dumb consequences unfolding due to this.

I was watching the news live with my parents after the first plane and I was asking how close planes are allowed to fly over Manhattan. I saw the second plane on the edge of the screen and started to say something like "Well no wonder there was a crash, look how close that plane is flying", then it hit. It was an unbelievable moment.

I am European, so it happened when I came back from school. My parents were watching the TV. Don't recall much from the moment.

Imagine if someone shot MrBeast. Like that, fr fr no cap

it was kino

I lied to my school and told them my dad worked in a chicago high rise and I was too worried to be in school. I went home and played vidya kek. Couple years later I became obsessed with Loose Change and Zeitgeist and was a total 9/11 truther. Now I’m somewhere in-between blaming isreal, Bush, and Saudi Arabia. Still unsure if Osama Bin Laden really had much to do with it at all

I was born just 2 months before this so I don't remember

It was fucking awful, I woke up, turned on the TV to watch Cheez TV play Pokemon and Dragon Ball Z, and instead I got treated to this bullshit.

P8BqL.jpg - 400x398, 97.56K

Wake up

Switch on tv

News is on showing footage of a plane hitting a building

Change channel

Same footage of a plane hitting a building

Every channel is the same footage

No pokemon

Eat fruit loops with no cartoon on in the background

Go to school annoyed

It was fucking terrible.

Aussie here. I didn't see it live, but we all saw it on the news not long after it happened.
It was a case of "damn man that's crazy, ok now put Skies of Arcadia on the dreamcast back on"

Pearl Harbor

You mean the time you were bombing the japs for months and months and then they hit you back once, and you're still crying over it?

You guys are like Israel when a kid throws a rock at a tank because the tank just leveled his entire village, and you launch a 6 month bombing campaign in retaliation.

I didn’t watch any of it live. Happened when I was in school, they let us out early and did a mass call to parents to come get us. Went home and played N64

America was a neutral country prior to Pearl Harbor you retard

Pearl Harbor

You mean the time you were bombing the japs for months and months and then they hit you back once, and you're still crying over it?

that doesn't sound right

kys zoomer fucking broccoli head faggot zoom zoom. Just kidding. I didn't really care at all. It was obviously bad but I don't really feel any connection with people in new york. I had been there a couple times and hated it.

There was a period of about twelve hours where nobody knew what was going on and your imagination could run wild. Because Columbine was still fresh in people's memories, I thought maybe it was nihilists who wanted to destroy the world, or maybe it was finally the Day of the Rope or some crazy UFO cult like Heaven's Gate (which was also recent). Then it turned out just to be Muslims again. Disappointing. New millennium, same old shit.

Heard about it on the radio, thought it was a small plane
They were covering it live so they got really quiet when the reporter exclaimed "a second plane hit the tower"

Class went on as usual with the adults looking increasingly worried, and sometime before lunch we turned on a TV and watched the news
It was about that time I remembered my dad was in NYC on vacation and I had no idea where he was, so I ran out of class to call him
Turned out he had dinner across the street and slept through the whole thing across the bay in New Jersey
I still remember how quiet it was when they grounded all planes in the country. I wished that had lasted longer.

ackshually you bombed Japan first!

What kind of jap bullshit is this?

I only remember it vaguely. Was only six and in Europe. They pulled in a TV in the classroom and showed us the news.
I remember some "joke" where the towers flexed and bended to avoid the planes in some sort of "we will not surrender" message.

Tbh the Howard Stern broadcast sorta captures the feels pretty accurately, even tho people here will try to meme it

youtu.be/e8P9TaEIWjw?si=bB4y5ncxUKH8K65F

Nice try moshe

At the time the culture (even online) was far less what's the word - jaded. Cynical sure, I think some of that flash violence shit was around before 9-11 but I don't recall memes about 9-11 for years later with the first being the spongebob pregnant 'mistakes into miracles' around 2008-2012, which is when 9-11 started to die down in the zeitgeist, the 10th year anniversary and then Osama getting fucking merced in 2012 (or was it 2011) being the real close of that chapter. But it was real 'holy shit' and outrage/anger. The visceral

We need to nuke the towelheads

Is hard for you guys to fathom. It wasn't niche or limited to the internet like saaaars please redeem is but widespread. There's youtubes of the trashy shock-jock Howard Stern that while for him is just your standard

It was the Palestinians of course it was the Palestinians kill em all oy vey kill em all

The less jewish black woman and white guys on the staff were equally "We just need to fucking bomb em. Doesn't matter who did it, just bomb em that's all they understand."

That said as a lil kid then outside of the day after when my friends and I talked about it the bigger annoyance was that no simpsons or other shows because it was just nonstop back-to-back coverage.

like I said earlier though I don't remember 9-11 memes or irreverent humor that wasn't making fun of the arabs for about 8-10 years afterwards.

It'd take a real big fucking attack to eclipse it in impact nowadays. Be nuclear/chemical weapons on the US or some kind of Paris-attack/Mumbai-attack style "Entire US city is under siege with live-stream footage of Jihadi shootouts.

I always pondered how 9/11 would've went down if it happened today

Would see actual live streams from inside the towers and floors of impact

Half the country would blame this as a left wing terrorist attack while the other half would say its the right wing

Would be forgotten about in 3 months

I’m Canadian and was in uni at the time. I remember waking up, walking into the living room, looking at the tv and asking one of my roommates what movie he was watching

The browns of Anon Babble would be laughing about it.

I felt bad for all the Indian people.

Stickdeath had animations about killing sand niggers pretty much right after 9/11. Maybe even before lol

IMG_1094.jpg - 300x168, 5.53K

i was only 5 years old but I weirdly remember it like I was 8 or 9, very little other memories from that time exist for me but 9/11 was a special televised event.

Buttholes clenched harder than thought possible. Red Dawn IRL.

America didn't bomb the japanese first, no one has ever even made that claim before

Filthy mudslime rats

nigga, the damn owner of the buildings was involved(a guy with a predictable Early Life section), you just dont randomly include "planes crashing into buildings" to the insurance of the buildings just six months before it happens.
this was backed by the US goverment to give a reason to steal and sabotage the oil reserves of the enemies of israel, and how did they repay us? they're turning our kids into trannies, greates fucking ally ever.

Nah, we forget shootings or bombings because they are le part and parcel of urban living and they happen so often. 9-11 was one of the three major cities of the US getting an iconic skyscraper (think it was the tallest at the time?) turned to rubble. It's the equivalent of if we had the Chinese suddenly bombing Los Angeles for how

What the fuck

it is.

youtube.com/watch?app=desktop&v=givcXTn0_Wo&t=0s
I remember booting that up the day they announced Osama got got. Which also just reflects how politics was sour but not so screeching partisan when I think of Jibjab. youtube.com/watch?v=z8Q-sRdV7SY

This must be how people who were around for 1950s culture felt in the 1980s.

The peak of the Indian education system

Listening to the howard stern episode from that day and it just devolved into lets nuke Iraq and Iran and Syria and Lebanon real quick.

America deserved it besides the fact a faction of the CIA helped plan it

He means it was British intelligence and other spooks screwing with the radio signals and pissing off the Japs to get US in the war.

it was kinda nice that even humorists like Howard Stern took it seriously at that moment and didn't just start taking the piss, it was fun to joke about eventually but I admire people not being so careless about human life

and why shoudlnt we nuke sandniggers?

the Tea party already existed by then

the Neoliberal world order was never going to last

be 8 yo

have shitty night, crying (can't remember why)

brother says we'll wake up tomorrow morning and watch Pokemon, everything will be okay

wake up

every channel is this fucking burning building

start crying again

September 12th AEST, never forget.

Imagine if someone turned off the Internet and your smart phones and computers forever one day without telling you and 3000 people died and you were going into very long war. Imagine everyone in the world besides maybe 3 countries laughed and locked you when it happened. It's a big reason we really like Poland, Japan, Australia. I think every American who was online and that day came to realize 90% of the world is subhuman and meant to be slaves. So imagine all that and you've lost the Internet and cellphones and computers forever.

You mean the time you were bombing the japs for months and months and then they hit you back once, and you're still crying over it?

im genuinely curious where you grew up that this was taught to you
japan?
india?
the middle east?
russia?

I wonder what the one guy who tried to pivot back to Pamela Anderson like 30 minutes or an hour after the second tower was hit is up to now?

That guy not caring about 9/11 on day one is a funny bit

The fuck are you talking about? He said

you were bombing the japs for months and months

That's not anywhere close to screwing with radio signals, not even metaphorically. He was blatantly wrong and you know it you dumb ESL

We destroyed all their local communist partys 50 years ago and our deep state funded the islamic extremist for the purpose of blowback

i dont even think jap propaganda at the time pretended that america was bombing them first

you just dont randomly include "planes crashing into buildings" to the insurance of the buildings just six months before it happens.

You do when terrorist attacked seven years prior, YOU STUPID DUMBASS

That about sums it up. I ‘member

See.You realize after enough "happy 9/11" that 90% of the world is subhuman and meant to be slaves. Don't trust them to ever be trustworthy or self aware.

They still lie and say Iraq did not have wmds. Every 9/11 then and their children will greet you. One day Americans just have to accept the reality 90% are just here to be slaves.

Stickdeath

I haven't thought about that shit in ages. I still remember their videos set to Down With The Sickness and Superbeast.

The Nuclear bombs were not necessary though, since leaving the Soviet Union off the Potsdam declaration gave the Japanese military false hope that they would help negotiate a peace treaty more favorable to Japan, which they only got a clue when the Red army started to liberate China.

Which is funny since not that many people in the Japanese government were even punished and the America deep state created the liberal Democratic Party which set up Japan as a defacto one party right wing state to this day.

Its more insane to look back on the War on Terror
We had 2 major wars going on, the ground invasion of Iraq was almost as large as 9/11 and there were constant ads about joining the reserves. Also every week there was constantly news about casualties of us soldiers.

Zoomers really don't appreciate the more peaceful world we have compared to then

It was the day the U.S. basically ended. After that you got the Global Financial Crisis which the world has still not recovered from and it influenced all sorts of the lame shit you saw that came after it including the progressive stack, SJWs, and so on. Those were all responses to Occupy Wall Street. Obama got elected and they dialed that shit up enormously mostly with Obama overseeing it. You also got Kony 2012 which was the pilot program for the government's new version of mass media control utilizing viral ideas and memes, which then led to The Dress in 2015 which set the stage for COVID Mask vs. No Mask, Vaxxed vs. Unvaxxed and all the divide and conquer shit you see specifically designed to keep people split and easily controlled. There's more to it of course, but 9/11, if it wasn't the explosion, was the lighting of the fuse that would bring this country to as it was to an end. If you want to be really picky Colombine, Waco, the Oklahoma City bombing, and Ruby Ridge were probably more along the lines of the lighting of the fuse with 9/11 being the actual detonation. In any event, watching 9/11 was watching the country become irreversibly mutilated in real time.

lol I know. It was very cool to a couple 10-13 year olds at the time

Oh of course, the moment I was old enough to understand neoliberalism and the Fukuyama end of history shit I just instantly thought

What cocked up arrogant retards think this shit

But you can still miss elements of the past. Like you guys don't understand what culture was like when it was not culture-wars 24/7, wasn't run by feminists and theatre-kids with a mile-wide anti-white streak but more of a "Everybody's got something cool (Except the Sandnigs) to bring to the table."

People always say that the period they were teenagers or young adults was the best culturally. I'm not saying that musically or movie wise the 2000s were the best. But they were ten thousand times better than everything 2012 onwards. It's just a night and day difference, like over the past 10 years prior we had a literal maoist cultural revolution attempt.

Most of the world wasn't online back in that antedilluvian paradise. Just 6 million Indians online to 134 million Americans.
youtube.com/watch?v=TfloJZbGkWg
youtube.com/watch?v=_WEyRvqAkvk

More peaceful world we have.

In terms of Americans dying yeah, we're not in a war, but the world looks a whole fucking lot worse today than in let's say 2005.

I mean look at we've done to wolves. Most of humanity lives in a confined hot asses humid places functioning a puppy mill that generates enough mutants a couple with out.

why was he such an asshole to the 911 lady?

cosgrove.jpg - 225x225, 6.66K

USA is the incel school shooter of countries

We knew that already.

american education

150000 years. In 200 years we were breeding super negroids. Why couldnt we breed people who are idiots but good workers. What do you think india and china are they all the same for a fucking reason lol

You now remember this.

The 2000s marked the last era of patriotism.
The 2010s were nothing but racial division, 50 genders and tribal politics
The 2020s is people becoming completely apathetic towards literally everything post covid

They still lie and say Iraq did not have wmds. Every 9/11 then and their children will greet you. One day Americans just have to accept the reality 90% are just here to be slaves.

burg.jpg - 962x1024, 133.33K

I look like that!

I blame Obama for getting us out of the Bush era and then saying
"Uhh Let me be clear, I am going to be Bill Clinton part 2"

I was 11 years old, home sick from school, and mostly upset that my mom couldn't turn off the news and let me play Nintendo or watch cartoons. I had no idea what the WTC was, but I figured out in was in NYC from the shots that showed the Statue of Liberty. The weight of the situation didn't really hit me because I'd never been to NYC and never knew anyone who lived in NYC and I was in a midwest state thousands of miles away. Never bought into national patriotism, not even at that age. Not happening in my state, not my problem.

you got the day off if you were still in school so not too bad honestly

3000 people
probability wise one of them was a pedophile which if you go off Israel logic of killing a thousand people is fine if one of them happens to be considered bad by them.

Never bought into national patriotism, not even at that age. Not happening in my state, not my problem.

You think like a fucking nigger.

i didn't say anything about the nukes or how the war ended, ive read and heard conflicting things about japan's readiness to surrender. but yeah the atomic bombs were probably not necessary but it was more about the US showing their big dick

cause i'd never been to or known anyone from NYC

its a shame a majority of people young or not have a hard time being empathetic to things not connected to them, I try to think if what it'd be like to feel like people connected and I apply that to my assessment of feeling, makes me get emotional at many many things other people kinda turn their eyes away from

Not happening in my state, not my problem.

Solid post.

Aw you're such a nice guy. Who's a good boy? Who's a good boy?

9/11 was as long ago now as pearl harbour was from 9/11

Incels who have never accomplished anything in life think it was the jews. Real combat vets like myself understand what fucking subhumans muslims actually really are, and there is no confusion. They despise you and want your head on a pike

its not about desiring to be a nice guy, I have immense care for humans and am as sincere as a person can be, my parents weren't this way but I felt enough pain growing up to teach me

Here’s a YouTube channel that has HD upscale videos of 9/11. Pretty kino. Here at about 03:41 the second plane hits. Marking the transition from pre-9/11 to post-9/11 world. For about 20 minutes or so people weren’t sure if it was just a tragic accident or something else entirely, and right at this moment the entire country knew we were under attack
youtu.be/ECGzunbIjjg?si=HVT_6JEDd_LaI1-b

Aw that's cute. Wanna cookie, Mr. Superman?

LIHOP

I'm literally already watching this. Later in the video there's a call from a guy trapped on the 83rd floor. I think he knew he was done for.

Timestamp?

It did something to our heads. Like if we just entered some parallel dimension

Nvm found it. It’s 32:00

is the exact person he criticizes

Fucking idiots. Go wipe your asses and wash your hands afterwards instead of being subhumans

biggest US happening in modern history

didn’t deploy the EAS

Imagine the KINO of that computerized voice telling everyone we are under attack.
If something bigger happens in my lifetime like ayys or soviets invading and they hand that shit off to CNN again I will hunt down Wolf Blitzer and remove that faggoty beard from his face with a rusty piece of metal.

Fucking idiots. Go wipe your asses and wash your hands afterwards instead of being subhumans

We didn't get this far as a species by only caring about ourselves shithead.

Fucking PUSSY bitch nigger. At least have the balls to reply directly to me. My brothers DIED in fallujah protecting your freedoms. You stupid fucking zoomers will never understand what it means to lay down your life for your country and countrymen…Brown mystery meat faggots who live life through a tiktok screen

i moved from west coast to New Jersey (hour from manhatten) and I secretly hope I hear people talking about 9/11 wherever I go cause for a lot of people its really personal to them and they all have anecdotes of people they knew that perished

Fucking PUSSY bitch nigger. At least have the balls to reply directly to me. My brothers DIED in fallujah protecting your freedoms. That war had nothing to do with personal freedoms

And Americans will not stop bitching about both.

I miss the past, man

It’s only adaptive to care about your own kin group

My brothers DIED in fallujah

Why though? Was an invasion of the US imminent?

By 1940, the U.S. was providing substantial support for

China, which had been at war with Japan since 1937. During that year,
the U.S. loaned China $125 million.9 In 1941, the U.S. extended Lend-
Lease to China, which enabled China to receive American war materials
without involving payment.
they also blocked off japanese oil access to cripple their war effort not very neutral

Cool. Still not bombs

they were engaging in acts of war against japan so not neutral
in an “eight action memo” by Lt.
Commander Arthur H. McCollum, head of the Far East Section at the Office
of Naval Intelligence, which was dated October 7, 1940. President
Roosevelt adopted McCollum’s proposals. “Throughout 1941...,” Stinnett
writes, “provoking Japan into an overt act of war was the principal policy
that guided FDR’s actions toward Japan.”
also

strangle a country out of resources using your military

be surprised when they bomb a base

at the time it seemed like it was a bad thing. Looking at what USA has become it seems there may have been some justification for it.

I m European and and it was right after school so I was mostly pissed that I couldn't watch my Animes for something ont the other side of the world that does not effect me, anyone I know, or my country.

It still kinda baffles me that big events in the US get a huge load of international media attention but if you want to have news about anything outside your home country and isn't America you actually need to put in some effort and kinda already know the news to find them.

H
