So, the new doe I met this morning... and her yearling buck kiddo.... she apparently broke her leg in the exact same spot as Charli the fawn did this year. I saw the limp and got a picture. It's her right front leg, between the deer versions of the knee and ankle.

Lacking detail, it was about a half hour before dawn.

We get lots and lots visiting. In about a month, the new fawns will start popping up

I'm in the western NY suburbs. Incredible amount of wildlife around here, with very few predators, other than cars & trucks. Some deer have learned to knock on my window with their snoot.

the two most sacred animals we get out here are coyotes and snakes. mostly rattlers, but there are others. if you go hiking n' stuff you still might not even see one yearly.
third might be hawks
honorable mention to extremely rare centipedes, which i have only ever seen one of.

bunnys and lizards and are multiple times a day common where I live because we have a nearby canyon. but if you live more in the grid, they might be more rare.

and not the house centipedes. i talking the big orange ones.

I'm itching to get pictures of local foxes. They're super skittish and I've only seen them just before dawn... peeking out from the edge of the woods.
