Gay.
good for porn sites.
i think it's cool. :(
good for staying anonymous, yep.
I CAN'T FUCKING INSTALL UBUNTU UPDATES SO I'M GONNA HAVE TO REINSTALL THE WHOLE DAMN OS AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
that's what i think
Ubuntu? More like Ucuntu.
Can't run Adobe programs and bottles sucks for gaming. If it didn't have those issues I'd still use it
Adobe programs
yeah that's understandable.
bottles sucks for gaming
did you try lutris? i usually just use bottles for more simpler programs.
I think you're cool.
Closed source software should be illegal.
I've been using Linux since 2000, when my college computer got a virus, & I was sick and tired of reinstalling WinXP.
I've been using it daily ever since.
I started with rpm based distros but Debian has some powerful versions too.
Not a huge fan of Arch or pure source code versions.
Can't run Adobe programs
Adobe sucks.
bottles sucks for gaming
Just use Steam retard.
refuses to run the digital jew on your computer.
incredibly based, you'd have to be insane not to switch to linux now.
Kek, so true. It just kills its own updater once in a while, puking out errors. Absolutely hate it, but the catch is that I hate windows even more
I'm running ubontu on my gaming rig - everything runs fine exept anticheat stuff, whitch i'm not playing anyway - who with fully developed brain would voluntarily install kernel rookits...
I played with it a lot when I was in high school and college but I haven't bothered in a while because I don't code at home, my workplace uses Windows exclusively, and Windows is more convenient for what I need.
That said, with Microsoft pushing their copilot spyware bullshit and the tech bros cozying up to the fascists, I'm considering switching to a non-US-based distro as a back-up.
Itt NERDS
Install TempleOS instead
About 50% of the time I can get xwindows working. I don't understand why there is a switch to another thing that definitely isn't working, takes more memory, processes, and other things that aren't tested.
id use it if it would just install nvidia drivers correctly. i have a whole 2tb nvme not being used because kubuntu wants to be a bitch
My daily driver PC is Win 11 but I have a couple of servers running Ubuntu and Debian and that's been enough to convince me to ditch Windows for my next daily PC so this will be my last install of Windows.
The more of a poweruser you are, the harder it is to switch. I tried recently and still may eventually, but the numerous small things like "no universal auto scroll" or "discord window decorations conflicting" add up fast, and having the tisms to want things a certain way, makes it hard to fully switch. Games on steam work great, but having to debug everything else is annoying. I sometimes enjoy niche visual novels or use tools for creating/editing gifs, and the stress about those sent me back to windows.
Fucking based.
bottles sucks for gaming
Just use lutris and steam, you nigganderthal.
it's too normie now
use freebsd
it's too normie now
Roughly 4% of all PC users.
Use a different distro. I have Nvidia and experience no problems.
It's a complete replacement for Windows with even greater software support.
99% of software, all actively used video players, web browsers, torrent clients, hobby stuff like Youtube/Onlyfans/etc rippers, all AI models, HEVC/AV1 encoders, Anime fansubbing tools, your power user disk encryption, home email, etc, virtually anything you'd want to do on a PC, are Linux native and only ported to Windows later on these days, if they are at all. Everything runs perfectly, if not faster and more reliably, than on Windows.
You recieve more cutting edge software like StableDiffusion for example, which did get a Windows port eventually, at the cost of old corpo shitware like uTorrent Pro(tm) needing to be run through an translation layer that may not handle all edge cases. Nero DVD Burner does not work for example, although there are plenty of modern alternatives that do if you still use DVDs for whatever reason, without wanting you to pay subscription fees or emulating anything.
It's like the old meme of buying a Mac for the exclusive Apple GarageBand app, but Linux has every active project written in the last 10 years in the repos running native, and Windows old corporate crap like 3DMax to open their proprietary files at work, hopefully ports of new (Linux) software if youre lucky a few years after they release.
i'm switching from win10 to debian plasma once trixie is officially out and i get some time off work. Recall scares the shit out of me and i don't trust microsoft not to randomly 'accidentally' reinstall & re-enable it so fuck 11.
Zorin OS is the goat.
People think it's genuine OS and that's hilarious.
Linux is for people who want to get jobs in the industry coding proprietary software for windows and windows applications.
I used it back in 2015 but had to switch back to windows because they don't support drawing tablet drivers, I would still use it today
Linux is for pedophiles who know Windows is scanning for illegal content at all times.
It is a genuine OS. It's great for both. Shit take.
2015
Yeah. That was practically a decade ago. My tablet drivers work just fine.
Nice trips but shit bait.
Good for a torrent VM, great UI
and one day, when Windows inevitably becomes a cloud service
I'll live in some Linux distro
I play with multiple distros on virtual box.
I installed Debian with XFCE on my old latitude laptop to revive it and it is working great. Way better than shitty ubuntu.
I might switch to Debian someday but my college is consistent on having me use windows only apps.
Also I tried installing a simple rhythm game (fnf phychengine) on Debian but I couldn’t get that shit to work, it’s way harder than just downloading something, extracting it and click run as administrator on the executable file. Wine didn’t work either, I tried haxe as well but gave up.
Need to be tech savy to use linux.
Only switched about 2 months ago but I've really enjoyed it. I had a little fun with ricing and Hyprland but I enjoy using Fedora with GNOME. I certainly prefer it to Windows and don't regret switching. The only things I really miss are Wallpaper Engine and ShareX
I use mint. It just werks.
Mint with Cinnamon is probably the go to for new users. It's great.
Wallpaper Engine
