Western society has had hundreds of years to develop technology and economies. Africa has not. Can you blame them for not having a strong economy when for hundreds of years we took all the resources they needed to begin that development?

Academia has been getting way more "crammed" in an interesting kind of way. Everybody wants to be seen as useful and a part of the "professionals" or "elites". Even if they aren't, even if they are actually just a waste of money, time and energy. They usually just walk, talk and act smart, but are just midwits with a high certification and an intellectual costume. Now the best kind of cuts are the ones that can cut off the giant tumor that has everything to gain but nothing to give, but the fact that governments are incredibly sloppy whenever they do anything, and always stitch up decisions with Kafka-like bureaucracy, there's always a million and one problems with what they have done. This will be the down side with the Trump cuts. Governments actually do have ways to assess the value of things, and its almost always through the market. Its the reason land taxes are so successful whenever they are implemented; its basically thanks to the market basically giving an indicator to which places are and are not valuable and then taxing accordingly. That's why I'd be hyped for a "free-market" valuation, even if it does mean many valuable scientists and academics may suffer for a while.
