You all need to learn how to save money and achieve FIRE. If you make $150k/year before tax and save a good chunk of it (only spending $60k/year and putting the rest in the S&P 500, bonds, and savings) you can retire in less than 20 years while having $80k/year to freely spend for the rest of your life. It only requires a net worth of a little over $2m.
If you're not able to reach that salary, then you either need to spend less pre-retirement, spend less post-retirement, or work for longer. You literally just need to save $25k/year and rely on the conservative stock returns to set you free. Even if you don't start this until you're 30 you'll be retired by the time you're 50. You can also easily live off of $45k-50k in most parts of the country and retire that much sooner if you give up some luxuries.
