I 100% agree. Not telling someone is pretty much the same as lying about it, and no good relationship is founded on lies. You can't play fast and loose with someone else's sexuality and not expect there to be any kind of repercussions. I don't think that it justifies murder, but can definitely see how it can end in murder. No one has even offered any good defense as to why it's such a common practice, which leads me to believe that it's something they're doing intentionally. Which if that's the case, it's very much fucking around and finding out. And said murderer should be entitled to at least a lightened sentence. Like manslaughter instead of homicide.

I think it should be something brought up as soon as possible. Ideally before the first date is even established. A simple "I'm trans" in the introduction stage would completely eliminate this problem, and can easily be done remotely via text. One would think that it's a common courtesy as a trans person.

Again, no feedback on why they do it, but if it's something they're doing either intentionally or maliciously then the dynamics change pretty wildly. If you knowingly hide your identity because it's a kink or you think that it's fun, it becomes an issue of consent and self defense. I think that from a legal standpoint, the trans person with be the offending party. If you go to the bedroom with a person that you believe to be female, you have consent. But when the female is actually trans, that initial consent is lost. You are no longer in the position you consented to. So that consent is no longer valid, which could at least explain the use of self defense.

I like to use it to socialize. At work I'm usually by myself in the field, or working in the machine shop. The shop isn't a good environment for conversation.
