Fallujah was definitely intense, but it only lasted what? A month and a half? I spent eight months getting shot at and blown up. Motherfuckers would take pot shots at our convoys from random houses. IED's fucking everywhere. I genuinely lost count of the engagements. Our ROS said we could shoot back if we were getting shot at, but our unit was told that if they didn't pose a threat to stopping the convoy, to keep driving. They'd happen just about every three days. Couldn't trust the first round of Iraqis who helped us, and watched one attempt to come near us with a VBIED. I would have given just about anything for a stand-up fight like fallujah. Instead, I dealt with whatever dorks trickled past your perimeter, marine.
so, assuming you were actually there, good for you, but don't talk shit about my service. 03-06 was actual war and just about everyone deployed during that time either got shot at or had to dodge a mortar at some point. Fuck... don't even get me started on the mortar raids.
