m.youtube.com
Close, but no.
That was awesome
He's a cool dude, but Lemmy is unparalleled
no,Georges Cool is
Georges Cool is very,well,cool
I lent Lemmy £20 back in the nineties and he never paid me back.
Totally!!
To live is to lose
He's a chud he collected nazi memorabilia
Iunno man Lemmy was certainly one of the all-time coolest but Sonny Boy Williamson II was pretty fucking cool.
Forgot the pic, was too caught up in how cool he was.
Pop music is gay.
That’s actually kinda based though.
Sonny Boy Williamson II
Never heard of him, but I'll check him out
He was a metal guy in the 70's and 80's. Nazi symbolism was oddly popular in the metal culture of the time.
Disagreed.
I like knowing I share a birthday with God.
Old school bluesman, back when black music still had a soul to it.
Dude would hang a harmonica out the side of his mouth and play it with no hands, rad shit.
Yeah, that's just the thing I'd expect from Lemmy.
Now you know how he earned the name "Lemmy".
He earned it honestly.
Then who do you think wins?
Lucky fucker
How does collecting Nazi memorabilia make one a "Chud"?
He wasn't a Nazi. He just collected stuff.
Everybody should have a hobby.
PIC RELATED! THIS IS YOU!
When is God's birthday?
Lemmt/Motorhead were NOT Heavy Metal.
They were ROCK AND ROLL!
Motorhead had more in common with ZZ Top than with Black Sabbath or Judas Priest.
Are you talking about the first or second Sonny Boy Williams?
You've probably heard many people cover his songs without realizing it.
Check out the live album he did with The Yardbirds with Eric Clapton as his back up band called Sonny Boy Williams and The Yardbirds.
Lemmy was cool, but not as cool as Mr. Cool Ice....
He wasn't cool, he was cool
Will do. Thanks for the suggestion
Okay, you got me there. Mr. Cool Ice is pretty Goddamn cool
And yet, nobody ever talks about the time James Brown jammed out with Motorhead...

They were part of the pioneering musicians of the 70's that eventually gave birth to thrash. They are most certainly heavy metal. I know Lemmy didn't like the title, and said they were closer to punk rock, but their sound is more of a speed/thrash metal thing.
December 24.
we don't know enough about him, bro :(
Agreed
Just be grateful for how much of him we got
Nope.
WRONG!
As I said, Motorhead have more in common with ZZ Top than Black Sabbath or Judas Priest.
Lemmy made it a point to tell everybody that Motorhead were OT 'Heavy Metal".
And neither are AC/DC for that matter.
OK, Motorhead were very influential on bands who played thrash metal, nor arguments here, but that's basically the extent of it.
And yes, Motorhead were a lot more closer to PUNK ROCK than anything, and anybody who has ever heard the On Parole album will testify to that.
This has more to do with The Sex Pistols than Metallica.
youtube.com
Nope.

What, exactly do you want/need to know about Lemmy?
I could go on, and on.....
probably not to have ever lived, but, the coolest motherfucker in rock n' roll, without a doubt.
After all, you cant really compare coolness (or define it) across generations, or across professions. Is Lemmy as cool as some of the great hellraising actors, like Peter O'Toole, or Oliver Reed? What about Lord Byron? and so on.
So Lemmy is cool. but you cant really say anyone is the coolest - because there's differences of value over time.
Lemmy repeatedly condemned Nazism. His criteria for collecting it was that it looked good. nothing more.
an actual quote:
"I don't support the ideology, I just like it because it looked good. if the British had those uniforms, I'd collect them. But what did the British invent? Khaki."
And as has already been said, Lemmy was a dinosaur of the 60's-70's generation, Like Ron Ashton of the Stooges, who always wore an iron cross, or Siouxsie Sioux, who wore a swastika armband in her early punk days. In the 70's, that was counterculture, not neo-nazism. Was is stupid? yes. and it did become an excuse for nazi cunts to worm their way into the punk scenes - hence the Dead Kennedy's "Nazi Punks Fuck Off", or Siouxsie Sioux later recording a song called "Israel", in no small part, to distance herself from her early fashion choices. But hindsight is a wonderful thing to have, which they didnt. Its foolish to try and condemn someone from the past with modern values.
They are most certainly heavy metal.
they absolutely were not heavy metal.
"We are Motorhead, and we play rock and roll. don't forget us".
youtube.com
Listen to that - when they arent turned up to 11, the music is rock n roll, or blues.
Did Motorhead influence and inspire thrash? Absolutely. Did they influence 80's metal? Absolutely - especially Metallica. Were they thrash? no.
In the same way the Cramps were Rock N Roll, fused with punk, and influenced psychobilly, but were never a psychobilly band themselves.
Goddamn. An intellectual has appeared. Maybe "coolest ever was a tall order, but as far as rock Gods, no one stands at his side
the Dead Kennedy's "Nazi Punks Fuck Off",
My Pandora played that for me just a bit ago tonight
well last anyone checked he was room temperture so . . .
I wonder if his snow cone business ever took off.
