Well maybe I worded it a little bit wrong but aight. See, the "attraction" is and probably will always be there, albeit I do notice that it's much easier to deal with if you teach yourself not to give in to it.
The reason why is twofold:
1. The religious and naturalist reasons: probably the easiest to explain: it is against the religion and in the scope of the natural order of things, it's kind of an abberation from the way we evolved. In the end, procreation is quite a strong cornerstone in both religion and biology. Without it we cannot exist, so if we go against that - it may not necessarily be evil, but it already stops being universalisable. I'm not gonna scream fire and brimstone at it all of a sudden, but I do realise that I've actually denied scrutinising things that seemed quite unnatural in the past. To put it bluntly, for example, puting the dick in the bum is only *this* popular among gays simply because it serves as a substitute vagina. Kinda makes me think of the scene in Nier Automata where the machines are emulating human sex. The more I think about it, the more the thought of "wtf was I doing?" dawns on me. youtube.com/watch?v=Gb5_2Pif7FI
2. The practical reason: Also has to do with the former. I want a family. I've got my cousins etc. and soon my friend will also have his son and he has appointed me as the Godfather... but I really want a family of my own. Always did. But, with a woman (unless there are fertility issues) you just do the deed and that's it. With a guy, finding someone who wants the full marriage package: rarer than a raw steak. Finding someone who wants marriage and kids: rarer than moonman being legit. Finding that + someone who is compatible with me and my dealbreakers + living near me: holy grail. And even if they want all that, you can only adopt or IVF (against which I also have some objections). You'll also face more social stigma and well, gay sex also requires lots of preparation so to say.
