4 to about 11 or 12 is a good few years. Specially once they start to get older and you can do shit like play video games with them and they get good banter/jokes going.
12-16 are the cunty years again but once they've been working part-time for a few years and finish highschool they settle down again.

Most people can't afford it and have a kid anyways, leaving them to rely on underfunded, overburdened social systems and the kids come out as underdeveloped burdens to society as a result. If you want to save society, fund social systems AND have kids.
