Honest thoughts about this country?

The cities are functional and the people are orderly so they aren't very stressful to explore. The countryside is beautiful and pleasant. People are nice. Food is amazing. It's a very comfy place to travel.
The sad thing is that the actual citizens there have such strict work & social pressures that they end up in drone mode and very few break out of the mindset and have families and fulfilling lives. People just move to the cities and live as workers. The countryside towns are dying and the population is aging rapidly. I'm afraid the party may soon be over. It's a shame. It was one of the last remaining nice countries.

I actually like Japan, but I'm getting really sick of all the weebs pretending they're sO aDvAnCeD because of random contrived, impractical gimmicks. They were a feudal society up until literally the last century and all of their "industry" was and always will be a poor imitation of the West. It’s nice to visit but the work culture there is absolutely toxic. Additionally, they got weird attitudes towards individualism, women, and eating while walking. They got nice cars (Ive imported my own), the amount of serene nature is incredible, and they have an interesting history.

Anyone who blindly praises Japan is a fucking weeb who has never been there and anyone who claims that they are a bunch of crazy racist weirdos most likely did not try hard enough to learn any Japanese to properly interact with people.

Beautiful. I've been there several times, and I'm playing tour guide for a group of friends in September. Buddy of mine who went with me two years ago has gone on mission trips to Peru, Bolivia, Chile, and Honduras. To him, it was unnerving just how disarming the people are. Our hotel was down some back alleys in this residential area near Ueno park. And we didn't feel like we were in danger walking down those alleys at 11:30 at night.

I love going to Kamakura (picrel, it's one of many I took on my first trip), Nakano Broadway, and I still need to get out to Aoyama, Gunma, and Tottori.

The country is not without fault. Where Amerifags are too individualist, Nips are too collectivist. Somewhere in the middle, there's a happy medium that would be the best of all worlds. The nips need to be making more babies, or they're going to face the same population implosion that China and South Korea are already facing. Cultural norms are just as bad as here in the States for child rearing, if not worse. They need to change that if they want their population to stabilize.

It's an amusement park for tourists.
Everyone knows that the nips work really hard, but they take their little free time they have very seriously.
This has made it so that the domestic tourism industry has been built around quick and effective high value experiences.
This is so the nip with a few days time off a year can get a satisfying vacation.
However, this in turn has made it that westerners staying there a month is going to receive great experience after great experience in a quick succession for their whole stay.
