A better analogy might be the robots on Mars that got hacked and sabotaged things. I think it was one of the shorts.
There were also the Kaylon from The Orville. They were robots created as general purpose servants. The creators installed pain functionality in the newer ones and children would torture the robots with it, so the Kaylons rebelled and killed everyone and buried their bones in heaps under their cities.

good luck coming up with something better than a human leg design wise, with integration into the nervous system, passive energy supply by eating, body heat, and all condensed into actual foot size without major mechanical errors or maintenance for 80+ years.
we will be able to regrow limbs long before we will be able to recreate them from metal and wires. bionics is useful in fringe cases, but entire body parts? no way
