My niece, who's 14, is addicted to vapes. To gain them, she meets both older teenage boys and older men to buy vapes from. Two days ago she told me, barely able to speak, that her addiction almost got her raped by a man in his forties (We are looking for him). She also told me a teenager in his 17 asked her to have sex with him for supplying her with vapes, and that a guy in his 19s had asked her to blow him for one vape.

I informed my brother and his wife, I asked them also to do some intervention. They told me they would do one, but today I learnt they chose to wait. I pressed them on this and got annoyed responses, they were going to do something. I asked them to call the police and inform the school, but they told me they are already working with the school, but not on this issue, and that calling the police wasn't a good idea in their minds. They instead are going to research alternative ways of interventions; whatever that means. WTF!? I want to inform the police and all relevant people, I want to call a help clinic, but I also don't want to damage my relationship with my brother and his wife; a stance I am questioning.

I asked them if I could buy vapes for my niece instead of her visiting unknown people, as a way of keeping her safer, as they are dilly-dallying with a response to her dangerous behaviour and addiction. Got told off and a meek response that they were going to something. I get it, providing their daughter with vapes isn't good. It is just another way of fueling her addiction and negative behaviour, but she is engaging in risky behaviour that may get her seriously harmed. I rather see that her parents or someone in the family control her addiction (With the goal to end it) than some unknown scumfuck wanting to rape a child. I am boiling. My frustration is where I am willing to fuck my relationship over with my brother and wife to keep their daughter far, far, far, far away from paedophilic animals.
