Government should be run like a business. Too many believe the government is some safety net with infinite resources, when its not. For example, if there was some kind of global government, when civilization is on multiple planets and moons, it would need low taxes. Low taxes are common sense, take less from the economy and its more likely to thrive. So long as strict weapons control is implemented, the government already has so much power that they only need to take about 4% of all citizens income to provide things like freedom, roads and healthcare. So much govt spending these days goes to ludicrous government salaries, foreign aid and overhead. What really needs to be funded is space exploration, science based voluntary healthcare, police and military, public education and so on. The spending needs to be on frontline workers and equipment, for example: instead of hiring 3 police officers and 6 higher-ups to manage them, hire 8 police officers and one higher up. Trump is making a good play, he just needs to take it easy on Canada and play hardball with actual bad actors like Iran, Russia, China, and other middle eastern and north african nations responsible for crime. If Trump keeps in power he could earn a position in the Government of Earth.
