If you had to go to college, would you study Computer Science or Electrical Engineering?

Neither, nerd.

Did math and econ double major undergrad

data science masters program currently.

Wouldn't change a thing

I'd study fucking the ever-living shit out of all the dumb freshmen cunts and leaving them by the roadside when finished

Women are here for our pleasure, they have holes. We fill 'em

Any other options? Those are femboy courses

A business degree.

I went to college and studied 'Heritage' and couldn't find a job after 4 years and 60k of debt.
I eventually got an apprenticeship in computer science/IT and got a job doing tech support which pays the bills and is a useful transferable skill. I wish I did computer science from the start.

I did go, for computer science.
20 years later, i'm doing engineering.
computer shit is pointless, it's all pajeets, your qualifications are nothing compared to their fake ones.
you missed it.
keep computer shit as a hobby, maybe you land lucky doing freelance shit, until then, engineering will always be more consistent.

I'm looking to change from that field to possibly engineering. What do you do? and what field would you recommend?

i would only go into those fields if you're actually interested in them
I am a software engineer for the past almost three decades with no degree but 2 years of bs degree
it was interesting at the start but it's pretty much the same shit now
I'd encourage young people to get into the business side, they're the freeriders who seem to capture most of the wealth creation in tech anyways

Isn't AI going to fuck all these kinds of jobs by the time you graduate

Computer Architecture or Mechanical engineering.Go for something physical.

It is?

Mechanical engineering is the one that most say. Always needed. Can do just about anything needed, all engineering fields come into play. Not boring. And six figures steady.

AI doesn't exist. It's nothing but a marketing term to distract us from them putting advertising and outright spying algorithms into everything,

I would bet that Computer Science is overflowing with degrees for now and would say Electrical Engineering would be the better option.

started off with risk assessments, then got into petrochemical& demolition

Chad fields. Well done, anon.

thanks anon, good luck in your field change, i'd never go back

Study the liberal arts.
We need more critical thinkers in society. Don't just make yourself economically useful, challenge the system.

Study electrical engineering. There are a lot of woefully unqualified people who are studying computer science right now and graduating because of chatGPT, so people hiring are starting to roll there eyes when another CS degree comes through. Plus, you can easily study every CS topic on your own and learn everything any CS student would, but not so much with EE.

it might. i'm a programmer and the ability of tools like chatgpt and claude to product code is fucking astounding given where it was. 3 years ago NOBODY was using AI to generate code and now i'm using it every day.

most people are very, very bad at projecting how things will turn out. the AI and automation is burning through the corporate ladder, bottom-to-top, at an accelerated rate

given how colleges are, i would probably just study my own privilege at this point

i would probably just stay home and go to a coding bootcamp. less time, less money, less bullshit.

I work in middle management which doesn't make me an expert by any means but I just wanted to chip in.
You're absolutely correct that AI is automating a lot. Entry level positions in my opinion are going to dry up for most white collar work.
Which is concerning because who's going to train the next generation to replace me when I retire. Which is a legitimate concern because humans still matter at the mid to top level.
But now with machines one employee can do the work of five people.
It's very scary and I'm fearful of my children's future.
Thanks for reading.

Computer science because electrical engineering looks hard. Also idk which has gay men, if any at all. I'd love to meet my future husband in a computer science class though.

Go back zoomer.

Gay men will be in software but it will be the furry gay mean twink boys.
The manly gay men are in business, marketing, or something related.
The daddy bears are in the trades usually.
The rich gay men are in the liberal arts programs with all the girls because they don't have to take out student loans.
The super effeminate flaming faggot gay men are in beauty schools and stuff like that.

Where are you more likely to meet a furry gf?

I'm a gay man so that's hard to say.
But I have had a lot of female friends and your best bet would actually be yoga/Pilates studios or book stores (especially manga section)
There's a lot of moms in yoga/pilates classes (which is annoying if you're gay because they want to befriend you), but you'll find the

OwO *nuzzlez*

Girls exercising or reading something trashy/nerdy
Definitely not a church or a bar.

gay man

Got any male care tips? Like how to look well and dress well, health care stuff.

compsci+EE is a golden double degree if you like bare metal coding, that can get you a job anywhere from nvidia/tsmc to toy startups rolling a SOC to High frequency trading making half a million a year.

If you're only doing one, I did compsci but in hindsight I should have done EE. I prefer hands on.

Definitely.
I'll assume you're straight.
Find an exercise regimine that tones you, is sustainable, and keeps you healthy.
Something like yoga, walking, light weight lifting, swimming, etc. have a nice trimmed physique that shows you take care of you body but aren't obsessed with it. It's cuter to be kind of smaller and toned than big and scary.
When it comes eating just be reasonable. I use protein drinks to manage my appetite and stay thin and it works. Then I have like one fun meal a day but everyone is different. Just avoid from mindless eating.
Skincare! Use moisturizer on your face and some kind of retinol and sun screen. Take care of your skin you only get one.
See your doctor at least once a year. If you can afford it, do a dermatologist and eyes too. But I can understand healthcare is expensive so do the best you can.
Dentist is important. Take care of your teeth and brush them well with a sonic toothbrush. They're pretty affordable now and don't forget to floss.
Trim your pubes and ass hair. Enough said there. And obviously wear deodorant.
For clothes that's so much fun. Wear neutral colored timeless pieces that fit well with other items in your wardrobe. From there you can add more color and fun to catch girl's attention.

society is always having several different versions of the 'tragedy of the commons' happening all of the time

pharmaceutical companies are pushing more and more pills and less and less exercise
food companies are pushing more processed slop
media companies are pushing more porn and more offensive exciting 'the sky is falling' news
automation is replacing a larger and larger percentage of the work force

technically nobody is really forced to make sure that society is sustainable. companies just do business for themselves and nothing else. politicians just do what they can to get in power and stay in power and make it less likely that the pendulum will swing back in 8 years which it always does anyways

electrical engineering because it puts you closer to just going to a trade school and being an intern for an electrician and then opening your own practice
comp. sci is done.
jeets and ai will keep you from making any money.

very few people properly understand how fast this shit is moving. just a few years ago it was a meme to post that picture of visually garbled objects (can't find it right now) as an example of how bad AI image generation is

now people are generating 4k 60FPS videos with AI that look absolutely fucking incredible. in less than 5 years.

the jump from crude celluloid photos to 4k 60FPS digital video was literally almost 100 years. but that same 'gap' in AI terms was less than 5. i'm not seeing many people around me that are properly freaked out by how fast that is. i don't think any of us understand the beast we are playing with.

Thank you man, wish you the best.

tough call. EE is jeet central but fuck so is CS. The money in EE is just ok.

tfw studied chem eng and now ~10 years into my career I quit my job and am wrapping up a master's in CS hoping to change fields

RIP.

You know quite a lot. Maybe you should write a book about that.

No problem! I love that kind of stuff lol.
Thank you.

Now I'm more interested in marketing and trades

About like male self-care?
Yeah there's not a lot of information about that out there. I know all kinds of little stuff for hygiene, fashion, and body wellness.
Maybe I should, it probably could help a lot of people.

I like daddy bears too.
Idk what it is lol
