There are two fucking things wastewater systems need to be able to handle, residual food waste from cleaning dishes and human excrement. I wouldn't worry much about oil as it's liquid at room temperature so is not very likely to cause blockages. It's stuff like bacon grease that's the real "issue" because hot water washes it away but then when it gets cooler it congeals back into a solid. Of course the problem is, how the fuck else am I supposed to get congealed bacon grease off of a pan if I can't use hot water and soap.

I've always kept an empty jar of pickles or whatever to pour cooking grease into. Just set it in the sink, pour the still warm grease in and and let it cool before putting the lid on. Then just throw the jar away when it gets full.
